Intimate Venues Recordings – Techstures Vol.1 – Reserve Your Vinyl Copy

Intimate Venues Recordings – Techstures Vol.1
‘After a year hiatus Nigel ‘One’ Geiger’s Intimate Venues returns with their 13th official release as a sub-label to the deep house staple imprint Nylon Recordings/Trax.
This 5 track compilation is a bit more tech oriented than much of the more deep and melodic tunes the label is known for. The lineup on this release is a testament to what IVR has to offer with tracks from long time Detroit Producer/DJ Raybone Jones who is no stranger to the house music community as well as a debut release from John Wolf proving that Intimate Venues is all about the music. This solid playlist also features songs from Delta Quadrant, Samuel Paradise and Define who have been putting out music with the Intimate Venues imprint since it’s humble beginnings in 2012. This release as a whole explores the grey area between deep house and tech house perfectly with a song for just about any situation. Define’s track Nordly’s has a latenight sweaty basement party while Samuel Paradise’s track innerverse has all the makings of a great opening track for an epicly deep set. John Wolf brings us a track called Off Centered Pleasure which is one of those joints that could fit into almost any deep or tech house set and will definitely keep the mix moving. Delta Quadrant comes with a very sexy techno shaker titled Believe that will be a sure fire dancefloor rocker. Last but not least Detroit native Raybone Jones most known for his widely praised releases on Moods & Grooves, Still Music, and Rush Hour as well as collaborations with Rick Wilhite and Marcellus Malik Pittman brings us a very deep offering with smooth chords and a whole lot of wet percussion. We know that the deep house community will make great use of Raybone’s track Moody City. Although this compilation is stylistically a bit different than this labels earlier offerings it still fits right in with the labels motto ‘We like it deep we keep it real.’

“Conversations” w/Blames Brown

Nylon Trax has started “Conversations” a question and answer interview featuring Nylon Trax artists and collaborators.
“Conversions” proposes the same 10 questions to each artist but the focal point is not on the questions but lies the in their in-depth and inspiring answers.
Nylon Trax “Conversations”, putting a face on House Music…

Introducing Nylon Trax veteran and amazing Artist/Producer  Zē a.k.a BLAMES BROWN.

Jaymz Nylon: Would you please give the reader a little family background i.e.; Place of Birth, Current City you based in etc…
Blames Brown: I’m Zē a.k.a BLAMES BROWN originally from Augusta Georgia.. The oldest of three . I currently reside in Atlanta ga. I relocated here in the mid 90’s

JN: What are your short and long term goals?
BB: I’d have to say in the way of short term goals , currently myself and my new group effort ( Electric Kollextive Groove) is to gain as much awareness as possible for our debut releases.. As far as long term I’d like to have a major distribution deal in place , a robust promotional budget and all facets in house ie; ( film, mixing mastering , graphic design , staging , sound , and lighting..) 60 acres , solar panels, 1000 free range chickens, 2 fresh water lakes stocked,10acre all organic farm.. Etc:-)

JN: Passions and/or interest aside from music?
BB: I’m an artist across the board. I initially attended college for graphic design and fine arts.. I have worked professionally as a chef .. I have a passion for food preparation and am very interested in organic farming and film production

JN: Who has inspired you and why? It could be Artists, Bands, Activists, Politicians, Family Members, Teachers etc…
BB: I would have to say I was most influence by the likes of James Brown , that is in part because he represented my home town world wide influencing all popular music to this day and because this proves it doesn’t matter where you’re from but what what’s in you and what you have to give.

JN: What message or advice you would like to give to music consumers/fans?
BB: I would have say first respect the craft and the sacrifices those who create it have made in order to do so . There are a lot of artist who have shared their talents with the world sacrificing their personal lives and the personal lives of their families only to meet their demise depleted and unfulfilled ..second realize that everything depends in everything , so the listeners’ support is Imperative.

JN: Would you say that you lead a well balanced life if so how do you stay centered? If not what changes would you make to achieve your desired result? Examples; Read more, exercise, better sleeping habits, more time with loved ones etc…
BB: I’d say for the most part I’m one that lives by moderation . I don’t eat pork, red meat , no liquor, no cigarettes , I run weekly, push ups and pull ups daily ,And I generally stay away from soft drinks. The other half of my balance comes from the mutual love and adoration of my two beautiful daughters.. They give my life purpose.

JN: Name 3 or more of your favorite self-produced tracks or releases. Artist Name “Track Name” Label.
BB: My 3 favs are as follows;
1.Love it when .. Off my debut on Nylon recordings .. Feat. Jaymz Nylon and Jay Rodriguez
2. Atlantic Deep by Zē! And Jean Dovy on Nylon Recordings
3. Fallen’ ( Electric Kollextive Groove ) on Hipacambus Recordings

JN: Name 3 or more of your favorite tracks produced by other. Artist Name “Track Name” Label.
BB: My 3 favs from others are as follows😊 ..
1. Kove ” love for you” more than Alot records
2. Rudimental ” spoons” Asylum records
3. Tourist feat. Will Heard ” I can’t keep up” Armada (4) promo

JN: Where would you like to live and why, City, Beach or
Rural(Farm Area)?
BB: I’d love to live in Brasil on a ranch that has direct beach access .. With that special someone .. And all the live stock and organic fruits and veggies..because where most desire fame , cars etc.. I desire to be independent . To me that has the redeeming qualities .

JN: What is more important, the sharing of music or the format in which music is shared?
Blames Brown: That’s a tuff one.. Because I believe that the thing that makes the sharing of music special is that it is best shared from a physical perspective rather than a virtual one. ” LONG LIVE VINYL”
