Intimate Venues Recordings – Techstures Vol.1
‘After a year hiatus Nigel ‘One’ Geiger’s Intimate Venues returns with their 13th official release as a sub-label to the deep house staple imprint Nylon Recordings/Trax.
This 5 track compilation is a bit more tech oriented than much of the more deep and melodic tunes the label is known for. The lineup on this release is a testament to what IVR has to offer with tracks from long time Detroit Producer/DJ Raybone Jones who is no stranger to the house music community as well as a debut release from John Wolf proving that Intimate Venues is all about the music. This solid playlist also features songs from Delta Quadrant, Samuel Paradise and Define who have been putting out music with the Intimate Venues imprint since it’s humble beginnings in 2012. This release as a whole explores the grey area between deep house and tech house perfectly with a song for just about any situation. Define’s track Nordly’s has a latenight sweaty basement party while Samuel Paradise’s track innerverse has all the makings of a great opening track for an epicly deep set. John Wolf brings us a track called Off Centered Pleasure which is one of those joints that could fit into almost any deep or tech house set and will definitely keep the mix moving. Delta Quadrant comes with a very sexy techno shaker titled Believe that will be a sure fire dancefloor rocker. Last but not least Detroit native Raybone Jones most known for his widely praised releases on Moods & Grooves, Still Music, and Rush Hour as well as collaborations with Rick Wilhite and Marcellus Malik Pittman brings us a very deep offering with smooth chords and a whole lot of wet percussion. We know that the deep house community will make great use of Raybone’s track Moody City. Although this compilation is stylistically a bit different than this labels earlier offerings it still fits right in with the labels motto ‘We like it deep we keep it real.’

Blames Brown “Profunda Encontros Meditação Música” Now Available on Traxsource

Blames Brown’s Nylon Trax debut EP “Profunda Encontros Meditação Música” is directly inspired by his frequent travels to Brazil a still developing country that was also the destination to a larger number of enslaved Africans. While amongst the these resilient peoples Blames noticed that no matter how dire the situation Afro Brazilians have a certain love for life, expression, culture and a support for their country even in the face of wealth disparity and the lack of resources.

This EP features “Até o Poço Seca” which includes a sidereal Jaymz Nylon Afrotech Remix and the Bossa Nova inspired “Brasilia”. Blames Brown’s track “Até o poço seca’ translates to mean “press on until the well runs dry” which is often said as Afro Brazilians continue the fight for freedom and equality. Brown is greatly moved, humbled and inspired by the spirit of the Brazilian people whom preserve and make the best of their situation believing that it is very important to have a message and meaning when it comes to artistic expression. Blames Brown says, “This is a small stitch in the great tapestry of Life”…

The 6 Powerful Daily Habits Of Successful DJs…

Worldwide Release!!! – Jaymz Nylon “Remix EP 3” on Nylon Trax

Jaymz-Nylon-Remix-EP-3-ART copy
After digging through the Nylon Trax archives Jaymz has reworked a couple of great tracks for the 3rd installment of his remix EP series.

“Power To The People” featuring Joshua Tree is a reminder that our civil rights are constantly under attack often resulting in death of an innocent, false imprisonment or the many other injustices that plague our citizens.
Joshua delivers powerful and timeless vocals that are drenched in pride and inspiration while Jaymz keeps you locked into a hypnotic rhythm that is both stouthearted and sumptuous.

“Shine Like A Star In The Morning” vocal is a direct reference of a Negro Spiritual or Field Song created by enslaved African people in the United States.
Negro Spirituals were primarily expressions of religious faith. Some may also have served as socio-political protests veiled as assimilation to white American culture and other songs contained explicit instructions to fugitive slaves on how to avoid capture, and on which routes to take to successfully make their way to freedom.
Jaymz stands firm on the original message and brilliantly frames the vocals into the modernistic Deep House sounds of today.
